Connected context

Discovery note → project → deliverable → client share → invoice

The freelancer tool stack

One client story should not need five subscriptions.

Client details in a CRM, decisions in a notes app, delivery on a project board, hours in a spreadsheet and invoices somewhere else all describe the same work.

01

Context gets split

The note that explains the project is separated from the record that tracks it.

02

Your workflow is generic

A rigid app rarely has the exact nouns and fields your freelance practice needs.

03

Sharing exposes too much

Clients usually need one polished note, not access to every internal record.

Structure without setup theatre

Start useful. Then make the workspace yours.

Built-in objects handle familiar client work. Custom types cover the parts unique to your practice. Full and scoped notes keep the thinking around every record.

Built-in business objects

Clients, contacts, projects, meetings, tasks, services, timesheets, quotes and invoices arrive with useful fields and relationships.

Your own object types

Create Deliverables, Retainers, Content Pieces or any other type with text, number, date and select fields.

Notes around every object

Each record has a full note page. Add more notes specifically inside a client, project, meeting or custom record when the context grows.

Know the client

Keep relationship context close to every conversation.

One connected client history

From first conversation to final invoice

Every step adds to the same relationship instead of rebuilding the client story in another app.

  1. 01

    Capture the client

Create the company and contact, add the opportunity, and keep discovery notes beside the relationship.

  2. 02

    Shape the project

Add scope, dates, budget and owners, then create project-specific notes for briefs, decisions and working material.

  3. 03

    Model your deliverables

Use built-in tasks and issues, or define a custom object such as Deliverable or Retainer with the fields your work needs.

  4. 04

    Share the right note

Send the client one read-only note through an expiring link without exposing the rest of the workspace.

  5. 05

    Log and bill

Keep billable entries, timesheet PDFs, quotes, invoices and recorded payments connected to the same client history.

Client-ready sharing

Share the note. Keep the workspace private.

Send a proposal, brief, status update or handoff as a public read-only note. The client gets the document they need without an account or access to your internal workspace.

  • Only the selected note is visible
  • Expiry options: one hour, one day, seven days or never
  • Revoke the link whenever the conversation changes
  • See aggregate reads without claiming verified client identity

FAQ

Questions before you move client work

Which kinds of freelancers is BlokNotes for?

BlokNotes is designed for client-service freelancers such as consultants, developers, designers and other independents who need to keep client context, delivery records and billing documents connected.

What is an object in BlokNotes?

An object is a note with a purpose. A project adds status and dates, a meeting adds participants, and an invoice adds totals and tax. Each record still has a full note, and you can add more notes specifically around that object.

Can I create record types for my own freelance business?

Yes. Custom objects let you create types such as Deliverable, Retainer or Content Piece, add typed fields, and give every record its own full note page.

Can I share a note without inviting the client to my workspace?

Yes. Create a read-only public link for one note, choose an expiry of one hour, one day, seven days or never, and revoke it whenever you want. The sharing controls report aggregate reads, not a verified client identity.

Does BlokNotes replace accounting or payment software?

No. BlokNotes can create quotes and invoices, calculate configured line-item tax, generate PDFs and record payment status. It does not process payments, file taxes, run bookkeeping or replace statutory accounting software.

Can I start without a credit card?

Yes. The Free plan requires no card and currently includes 100 note creations per month, 10 custom records per month, 5 records per premium type each month, 1 gb storage and 25 ai credits per month.
